Anton Corbijn

The photographer and filmmaker, born in 1955 as the son of a Protestant pastor in the Dutch province, sought proximity to rock and pop culture with his camera at a young age and moved to London in 1979. Corbijn's work would go on to have a lasting impact on the visual side of pop music; he worked with bands such as Depeche Mode and U2 for decades. The artist, known for his existentialist black and white aesthetic, also designed record covers and made films.
