You don't have to record a Christmas album to be at the forefront of music during the supposedly quietest time of the year. Mira Lu Kovacs & Clemens Wenger have chosen a different path for their "Sad Songs To Cry To" and recorded pop songs, jazz standards and their own songs in the most reduced versions imaginable. There is the voice of Kovacs, known from the groups Schmieds Puls and 5K HD and as a solo artist, and the felt-covered piano of Clemens Wenger, a Jazzwerkstatt activist and member of 5/8erl in Ehr'n - and that's basically it. Quiet does not automatically mean euphony and a wellness program. The intimacy of this music is also inscribed with a certain toughness. The interpretation of Friedrich Hollaender's "Wenn ich mir was wünschen dürfte" sounds ghostly, "Kalt und kälter" by STS exorcizes Kovacs' soothing dialect.
