Maiija

Marilies Jagsch was one of the most promising young voices in Viennese pop around 2010. After two albums on Clara Luzia's label, she temporarily stopped working (solo) and returned a few years ago under the pseudonym Maiija. Jagsch's third and Maiija's first album, released in 2023, is called "I Am"; every song on it begins with these words. Together with producer Peter Paul Aufreiter from the band Hearts Hearts, Jagsch has tailored an individual arrangement to each of the eleven songs. Some of them are sparsely orchestrated, while others grow into intense sonorities. Throughout: haunting pop for an adult audience.
