Famous actor Mathieu (Guillaume Canet) is struggling with his midlife crisis; he travels to the west coast of Brittany, where he stays at a wellness hotel in an abandoned resort. Piano teacher Alice (Alba Rohrwacher) lives nearby with her family; 15 years ago, long before Mathieu became famous, they were a couple. "They meet again and that's the end of the laconic overture.
