While searching for a bone marrow donor, a conductor suffering from leukemia learns that he has been adopted and has a brother in a town in northern France. At first, he and the unskilled worker who plays the trombone in a brass band seem to have nothing in common, but they find common ground in music. Emphatically performed tragicomedy based on a tried and tested score.
