Not for the faint-hearted! Twelve-year-old Stina grows up in Finland in the 1920s in poor circumstances and, like so many at the time, suffers from the lung disease tuberculosis. In the hope of a cure, she is sent to a secluded sanatorium, where very strange things are going on.
