Space Dogs

This fascinating documentary film essay follows the mythical tale of Laika, the first living being in the cosmos: According to a legend, the spirit of the bitch roams restlessly in the streets of Moscow to this day. The directing duo frames their naturalistic observation of the shaggy descendants from a dog's perspective as a cosmic collective pain, which combines with unseen archive material from Soviet space travel to form a modern indictment of human nature.
