Stage fright and perfectionism have cost Anna (Nina Hoss) her career as a concert violinist, now she teaches at a music high school. When Alexander (Ilja Monti) applies for admission to the school, she recognizes in him a great talent and pushes him through against the will of her colleagues. The teenager becomes a fixed point of her ambition, her family a secondary matter. A musical thriller, well played.
