Until the recent past, simple army recruits were used as executioners in Iran. Rasoulof shows what consequences this activity has for the young men and their families. Four individual stories, told with enormous restraint and some shocking moments, together make a lasting appeal against the death penalty. Awarded with the Golden Bear of the Berlinale.
