The teacher Antoinette is looking forward to the summer holidays with her secret lover Vladimir, the father of one of her students. When it turns out that his wife has planned a trekking holiday in the Cevennes, Antoinette decides to follow in the family's footsteps. Her pack mule, however, has its own ideas about the route and speed of travel.
