The Mauritanian

Tobis Film
Shortly after the attacks of September 11, 2001, Mauritanian Mohamedou Ould Slahi (Tahar Rahim) is arrested without evidence as a "terrorist" and taken to the US military base at Guantanamo. Attorney Nancy Hollander (Jodie Foster) and her colleague Teri Duncan (Shailene Woodley) take on his case, initially unconvinced of his innocence. Their adversary, military prosecutor Stuart Couch (Benedict Cumberbatch), is ordered by the highest command to obtain a death sentence at any cost. Solidly directed, gripping judicial thriller based on Slahi's "Guantanamo Diary." (Michael Omasta)
