The relaxed daily routine of plumber Alessandro and translator Arturo is thrown into disarray when their childhood friend Annamaria and her two children turn up at their home in Rome: she has to go to hospital for a check-up, and the gay couple have yet to prove themselves as surrogate parents. And then there's Annamaria's hated mother - of the creepy countess type - who squats in her half-ruined country estate like a spider in a web, eager to give her grandchildren the "befitting" drill. Tragicomedy, absolutely worth seeing. (Michael Omasta)
