Three Roman microdramas: In an apartment building in an affluent neighborhood of the Italian capital, three different families live on three floors. "For the first time, Moretti does not film his own script, but adapts a book by Israeli author Eshkol Nevo. Over the course of a decade, the drama observes how alienation, grief and loneliness divide the families in the house. More serious in tone, almost sober and lacking the usually liberating comedy, Moretti tries to build on the success of 'My Son's Room' but fails to anchor and link it, despite the terrific acting material."
