Archaic, mythical north: Years have passed since Viking king Aurvandil (Ethan Hawke) was murdered in the back. His son Amleth (Alexander Skarsgård), who witnessed the bloody deed as a child, returns to Iceland physically steeled: determined to exact merciless retribution, save his mother Gudrun (Nicole Kidman) and finally bring the murderer Fjölnir (Claes Bang) to justice.
