For the title of his 20th film, Aki Kaurismäki quotes the chanson "Les feuilles mortes" by Yves Montand and tells the story of supermarket employee Ansa and welder Holappa in his usual laconic manner: two lonely hearts whom fate brings together in a karaoke bar in their search for the first, perhaps final love of their lives. For this, the Finnish cult director was awarded the Jury Prize at Cannes 2023.
