A psychiatrist who works as an evaluator for the police is asked to evaluate an unusual man who has been arrested. In conversations with her, Doug unfolds his life story. He has distrusted human relationships since he was severely abused by his father and brother in childhood; instead, he has developed a special bond with dogs, who have become his surrogate family.
